Massage Therapists

Dionne Nichols, RMT

Dionne Nichols, RMTDionne has always had a natural talent for massage.  She started her training massage therapy at the Calgary College of Holistic Health in April of 2007.  Due the quality of her abilities and skills she was offered a position at the school to be a student instructor.  She has worked at four different spas in Calgary as an RMT.  Through feeling for the muscle tone and texture, responding with techniques cultivated to relieve tension and stress, she is able to affect changes in the body.  She touches patients with the intention of stimulating the body’s natural ability to heal.  Through observation of body mechanics in other professions, she can help develop appropriated and effective treatment programs.  Tell her what you do and she can tell you where you hurt.  Dionne supports a team approach to care and will refer to the appropriate health practitioner as warranted.

Since then she has worked in the spa industry, with chiropractors, and at a clinic specializing in maternity massage.  Marcie has also been an instructor for the massage therapy program at Mount Royal University since September of 2002.  Marcie's area of interests are in maternity massage, as well as pelvic and shoulder dysfunctions.  Marcie believes in relieving her clients' pain and discomfort so their lives are enhanced and their productivity returns.

Brett Tanaka, R.M.T.

Brett Tanaka, R.M.T.Brett has almost always wanted to be a massage therapist, though before that he had wanted to be a paleontologist. That is until one of his brothers thought it would be pretty clever to tell him that all the dinosaur bones would be dug up by the time Brett finishes school. He was told at a young age that he had very gifted hands and with that statement, the passion to do massage was born. Brett graduated and completed the Mount Royal 1100 hour program in December 2008 and has since then never stopped massaging people, unless he falls asleep. Brett has experience in both therapeutic and relaxation massage. His main goal with massage is to make people feel better then they did before they came in and hopefully improve mobility issues people may acquire from pulling a muscle, postural strains, sports injuries, car accidents or just the stresses and strains of life.

BRETT TANAKA Hours
Mondays and Thursdays 4:00pm - 9:00pm
Every Other Saturday 9:30am - 6:00pm

Dr. Kara Asks some important questions of interest to NW Calgary residents - Chiropractor NW Calgary Dr. Kara Asks...

Could a chiropractor put an end to bedwetting?
If bladder control seems elusive, consider chiropractic. If spinal bones are interfering with nerves that control your child's bladder, plastic sheets, alarms and other methods simply add to the embarrassment. NW Calgary parents are often amazed (and relieved) that chiropractic can be so helpful. Learn more.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our NW Calgary chiropractic practice.
